A friend of mine posted this and I've been trying to reread #2 to myself on repeat all day. Being an overweight, slow runner always keeps me from dubbing myself with the godly title of "runner," but it's totally correct - I do run. So I am a runner. A slow basset-hound-ish runner, but a runner nonetheless.
I just completed my first 5k of 2013 and unintentionally set a new PR. I wholeheartedly think my other exercise habits, as well as my overall weight loss, contributed to this, and it's made me fall in love with running all over again. Primarily, it's making me really question my potential and it's putting half marathon thoughts back in my head. So, in an effort to challenge myself, I'll keep tabs on my runs and my times. Because I know you're interested. Don't lie.

2013 was a really fantastic year for me athletically. I took my running career to a whole new level using Jeff Galloway's run/walk method and shaved almost a full 30 minutes off my half marathon time. The year was full of running ups and downs - bad races followed by brand spankin' new PR's, and pushing myself harder than I thought I ever could. With intense training for a long distance run often comes the burnout following the big race, and I was no exception. I took a big hiatus from running this past fall and these cold temperatures are not making it easy to hit the pavement. With hope, I'll be pushing myself just as hard this year and participating in many more races (including maybe another half!) Stick around to see how I hold up this year :)
